World Airways Helps Tampa Cargo Deliver Fresh Supply of Flowers For Valentine’s Day

January 26, 2012

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. (Jan. 26, 2012) – Valentine’s Day is coming, and when love is in the air, fresh flowers must be in the air – air cargo, that is. World Airways is supporting the heavy 2012 Valentine’s Day demand for fresh roses from Latin America by providing a Boeing 747 freighter to Tampa Cargo just in time for the holiday. World, a subsidiary of Global Aviation Holdings, is providing the freighter to bring hundreds of tons of fresh flowers into North America in late January and early February for the year’s most romantic holiday on Feb. 14.

“World has provided wide-body freighters to Tampa Cargo on multiple occasions over the past two years, and our Miami-based 747-400 is ideal for this time-sensitive air freight requirement between Latin America and North America,” said Brian Bauer, Global’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Tampa Cargo is a great customer for us, and we are pleased to be able to provide the ideal aircraft to respond to their market demands.”

With more than 38 years of history, experience, a broad route network and ample service, Colombia-based Tampa Cargo is one of the main air freight companies in Latin America.

World Airways, a subsidiary of Global Aviation Holdings Inc., specializes in providing ACMI solutions using B747-400 and MD-11 aircraft. Based in Peachtree City, Ga., World is a U.S.-certificated air carrier founded in 1948. For more information, go to www.worldairways.com or www.glah.com.
